How Far We Have Come

Child playing violinOur instructor, Tessca, teaching Nataly how to play the violin.

We are expanding our efforts in San Francisco. In February, we launched a violin program at De Marillac Academy in the Tenderloin, matching instructors from San Francisco University High School and Saint Ignatius College Preparatory with the socioeconomically disadvantaged students De Marillac Academy serves. This summer, we will be continuing our work at De Marillac Academy and launching a guitar program at Saint Ignatius Magis Program

What we've achieved so far

Our achievements

We currently provide free music lessons for De Marillac Academy students in San Francisco for children from underserved, low income families in the Tenderloin and other at-risk communities in San Francisco.

How our non-profit works

We provide a volunteer music tutor and free instrument to eager students in California schools without music programs. Lessons for Life has successfully trained many student musicians this past year. We have a waiting list of volunteer tutors and prospective students but need funds and instruments to expand our efforts throughout San Francisco.
